Scrapdoodles Retreat

First evening of the Scrapoodle retreat in Glen Allen, Virginia. Mini-Book Mama and I are here  for a full weekend of scrapping and classes. I did manage to get one project completed on this first night. This cute doggie mini-book.

We are looking forward to lots of fun for the weekend.

Small Printer's Tray

This is the first small printer's tray I have made. It was a little harder than than the bigger ones since you have so little space to work with. A couple hints for making these little trays interesting:

* Build different boxes up to different levels. Here I cut up a cork board and put it behind a couple of the photos to raise them.
* Use washi tape to decorate the plain frame. Miter the corners for the cleanest look.
* Add dimensional elements inside the boxes as well as on topof the frame.

These are really easy and fairly quickto make. Just be sure to think inside and outside of the box!

Bad Blogger

It took a new follower to shame me into updating my blog! I didn't realize how long it had been since I last posted anything. Time sure can get away from me.
Just to get back in the groove, here's a picture of my new puppy, Ronni. She is 8 months old and was found as a stray by a co-worker of mine. She needed a forever home and once we saw the picture of her cute little face, we could not resist!!!

Cards

Here are some of the cards I made at the last crop night with Petal Pusher. We had fun just trying different stuff. It was a nice and relaxing not to have to worry about pictures!

Flat Sisters

Since we can't always be together when we scrap, we started to make "flat" versions of each other to scrap with. I finally got mine both done. Here is Petal Pusher and Mini-Book Mama in their scrappin' t-shirts ready to crop!!!

Project 12 - August

The subject of my August Project 12 layout was New Babies. My neighbor next door got a new puppy and I have a new great-nephew. They are both adorable!!!

Sand Bucket Mini Album

We made this sand bucket mini album while we were at the beach, but I just got around to putting pictures in it. I used some of that "mud puddles" stuff that contains sand on the top of the bucket for some authenticity!

Project 12 - July

July was vacation time, so the subject of my July Project 12 layout was the fun time we had at the beach. It's a good thing that this sketch allowed for lots of pictures!!!

Project 12 - June

Here is my Project 12 page for June. A lot of different things occurred in this month, so the pictures are varied. It was a busy month!!! I used my new Cricut Expressions for the flourishes and lettering on this layout.

Beach Vacation Album

In June/July, the Scrappin' Sisters, along with our DH's, took a trip to the beach!!! In order to actually get this trip scrapped, we did the pages ahead of time or at least as much as we could. I took along my portable printer so we could just add pictures and embellishments during the vacation. It worked out pretty well!!! Afterward I made pockets for the front and back of the album to store memorabilia.
Before going to the beach, Mini-Book Mama and I attended the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Virginia. It was a blast!
While we scrapped, the guys went into D.C. for some sightseeing!
The day after the convention ended, we hit the road for North Carolina and the Outer Banks. Our first sights of the beach were very welcome after the long drive.
Then we tried our luck out in the waves and on the beach building sand castles.
Of course, it was also great just hanging out around the pool back at our beach house. It had a Tiki Bar which was the favorite spot for the guys.
One of the days we went to visit lighthouses - Bodie Island and Cape Hatteras. A few of us made it all the way to the top at Hatteras - what a view!!!
We couldn't get enough of the beach. It was awesome just for hanging out and watching the waves. The ghost crabs were fun to watch, also.
Of course, just being all together was the best part of the trip!
We made it back to D.C. for the Fourth of July and took a cruise on the Potomac River to watch the fireworks.
It was a great vacation - the time just went by too fast, but I'll always have my scrapbook to remember it by!

Tag You're It!

Here are the two most recent tags I have done. The Sisterhood tag was for the challenge where we were to incorporate the use of a spirograph - I made the flowers that way.
The Art tag was for the challenge where we were to do a collage or mosaic theme. I used different sizes of Technique Tuesday tiles incorporating various techniques, including glimmer mist, chip art embossing, chalk, stamping, glossy accents, crackle accents, paint, etc. It was a lot of fun!!!

Organization Camp Challenge

For this one, I decided to organize my buttons by color. Previously I had them all mixed together and in a bunch of different places. Now they are in clear containers by color. I had more buttons than I thought and more colors, too, so they are not all in the same size jar. I might need to go by Hobby Lobby and pick up some more jars so they will look cute and match!
