Tag, You're It Book

Last night I worked on the album for the Tag, You're It challenges. I knew that I wanted to include photos of the tags I made as well as the actual tags I received. First I did the cover with the title placed on some tags, get it... tag on the tags. Then I wanted to have a little journal block with each set to explain that round of tags. On the first page, I did a sister tag, so I decided to do a little embellishment of sisters. Then I got kind of into that theme so each page is going to include some kind of sister or girlie embellishment. We'll see how long before I run out of ideas!

May Project 12

While I was at it, I moved onto my May layout. I knew I was going to do this one on the plant sale, so I already had the pictures in mind. I didn't care for this sketch as much as some of the others - not enough pictures and too much empty space. You know me, I had to fill some of that in with flowers and other embellishments. I just can't help myself!!!

April Project 12

Better late than never! I finally got my April Project 12 layout done. My theme for this layout was spring so it includes pictures of some of the early things blooming in my garden. I really like the way this one turned out.

Crop Night

A friend of Petal Pusher gave her a crop night party for her birthday, so on Thursday night a bunch of us got together for some scrappin'. It was a really good chance for me to get back into the swing of things. The crop included dinner, m&m's, and prizes - what more could you ask for? I got caught up on my Project 12 layouts - look for those in the next post.

Scooter Tag

I finally got to making my next tag for the Tag, You're It! challenge. I fell a bit behind, but now I am back on track. I got a really cool one from Mini Book Mama that had Scooter on a surf board. I decided my Scooter was a little more laid back, so he's chillin' on the beach slurping up a margarita. That's my kind of doggie!!!

Wrapping up the Sale

My co-chair and I went to the office on Thursday and turned in the Plant/Art Sale proceeds and also put everything back into storage for next year. Of course, there were still some left over plants to contend with. After picking up a load of them, I decided they were so nice that I would try to sell them. So on Friday morning, I took a load of annuals into work and sold almost all of them!!! People were requesting perennials as well, so after having lunch and a little scrap shopping with Petal Pusher, I picked up another load and went back there. I sold almost half of that load! The rest will be donated. Today, I tried to cleanup the aftermath at my house. I went through all my notes and paperwork and weeded it down to what will be needed for reference for next years sale. I also found some more things that need to go into storage, so that will be on my list for later in the week. I hope to get back to some scrappin' now. Petal Pusher and I have a crop on Thursday night, so maybe I can get a little caught back up!!!!

Plant Sale Day!!!!

The big day finally arrived!! We opened promptly at 8am and very quickly we had a tent full of people buying plants - hurray!!! It was very nerve-racking as we worked through small glitches to make everything run smoothly. There were lots of volunteers on hand to answer questions and help customers, but we got so many people in there at one time, we were swamped. It all worked out and we raised some good money to help support our programs so it was all worth it. But by the end, I was really worn out!!!!

Setting Up for the Plant Sale

5/7/10 - The time has finally come!!!! Setting up for the Plant and Art Sale was really hectic. While the big tent was being setup, we were unloading all the plants from the greenhouse. Then the tables had to be unloaded as more plant donations were coming in. Placing everything in the tent, grooming the plants, arranging and labeling everything, it was crazy. Several of us stayed the night with the plants, pricing them, putting up signs and getting ready for the big sale day!!!

Getting Ready for the Plant Sale

5/2/10 - It has been crazy getting ready for the plant sale. Not only am I in charge of the whole thing, I've been scurrying around digging and potting up plants for the sale. Here are some of my "holding areas" for the plants I am donating.

Xyron Creatopia!!!!

Using the need for a wider laminator for the Plant Sale as an excuse, I bought a Xyron Creatopia. Since the whole product line was on sale and I got free shipping, you know I had to buy some extra accessories. I got two full page embossers, swirls and dots, and three border embossers, flowers, dots, and puppy paws. With the Plant Sale going on, I've really only used the two sided lamination, but it's nice how it will do thick items - my signs were probably 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick and it laminated them great. I can't wait to try out the other stuff!!!!

Mini Book Shelf

4/25/10 - Finally got around to making the matching mini-book shelf. For now I have a few of my favorite stamps and shot glasses on it. The shot glasses are for holding a scrap essential - dark chocolate m&m's!!!!
