A Little Bit of Scrappin'

I got in a little bit of scrappin' at crop night at Petal Pusher's church. I made all the Scrappin' Sisters a book to put our "Tag, You're It!" items in. I used patterned cardstock to make the pages and pockets and bound the book with my Bind It All. The idea is that you are supposed to put a picture of the tags you made and sent to someone else on the pages without pockets. In the pages with pockets, you put the tags you received. Now it's up to each Scrappin' Sister to decorate the book in their own way. Watch all our blogs to see what we come up with.

Mulch, Anyone???

I found out from a friend that Home Depot had mulch on sale. Woo Hoo!!! It takes a lot to cover my garden beds, so we made 10 trips with the pickup and got 410 bags!!! We already put 90 bags down in one garden when this picture was taken. We had it stacked all neatly, but suffered a mulch bag avalanche!!

The Puppies of Spring

The dogs have really enjoyed the coming of Spring. Here they all are out playing in the pasture. They love to run romp around and smell all the new life springing up everywhere. Of course, there are also neighbor dogs to bark at and bunnies to chase!!!

Working in the Garden

Ok, Ok, my scrappin' sisters have been giving me a hard time since I haven't been posting anything. I've been busy in the garden and haven't gotten a lot of scrapping done. Here are some pics of things coming up!

Petal Pusher came out and helped me in the garden one day. She helped pot up plants that I dug up for the plant sale and also helped me trim back alot of things. I think after that she decided that gardening isn't her hobby. We were both sore after a day of working in the garden, but it's worth it!!!

NOT Scrapbooking

My sweetie took this picture of me today working in the garden and he sent it from his phone out to his Mom and my scrappin' sister, Petal Pusher, with the caption of "Not Scrapbooking". I guess he thinks I spend a bit too much time in my scrap room ;-). He's right that I do need to be getting on the garden; it's finally starting to warm up. Today, we cut back all of the ornamental grasses and rudbeckia in the roadside garden, so that's a start!!!!

On-line Crop Challenge Entries

Last night Mini Book Mama and I participated in an on-line crop over at two peas in a bucket. This was our second one, so we got a little more done this time. Also we were both together in one place, so it made it a little easier. We still didn't get to every challenge, but here's what I submitted for the ones I did. The first one is the challenge where they gave you the option of either using a digital download or just using it as a sketch. I did the latter and did a layout about the fun time we had playing with sidewalk chalk this week with Petal Pusher's granddaughters.

This is one where we were supposed to choose a stamp and use it as a background on our page. I have had this sister stamp for the longest time and wanted to use it, so here was my chance.
Then there was a mini challenge for a spring card. I got this idea from Mini-book mama.

Next there was a challenge to make a layout, card, or tag based on some type of electronic communication. They mentioned facebook and twitter, but I don't do those, so I made it of a funny Easter e-mail that I got from Petal Pusher.

The last challenge that I made was one where you were supposed to use a die cut on a project. I chose this fun Quickutz flower die.

The crop was lots of fun. It was really fast-paced, but that was good. I think it will help me to practice not to agonize over each and every little element on my projects. Just relax and go with it!!! I'm going to try!!!

Caught in a Storm

Mini Book Mama and I took a couple of the dogs out for a walk at a local park this morning. The rain was supposed to hold off until around noon. We got over a mile into the trail, when it started to rain - big fat rain-drops. So we turned around and headed back toward the car. Then it started getting really dark and we could hear thunder in the distance. The rain lightened up a bit and although we were already wet, we thought maybe that was the end of it. Then we started hearing this really strange noise, really loud like thunder, but not thunder. I realized it was very heavy rain hitting the metal roofs of the boat docks across the lake. It was pouring and you could see in the water exactly where the border of the rain was and it was coming our way. Then it hit, with straight line winds and blinding rain coming down on us or I should say straight sideways at us. We were going as fast as we could with the dogs, but were still a ways from the car. The rain was hitting us so hard it felt like hail and it hurt!!! It was so heavy that we couldn't hardly see and the wind was so fast speeding by us that it was hard to even breathe - like it was sucking the air out of us. We finally made it to the car and I was putting one dog in the back while Mini Book tried to get the other in the back seat. That was the first chance I could catch a breath leaning into the tailgate of the car. We finally got into the car and visibility was like zero. We sat there for a minute just trying to figure out what had happened.

On the short drive back to the house, we had to go around two downed trees. When we got out of the car, we heard tornado sirens in the distance. After checking the TV it looked like there weren't any tornados, but high speed straight line winds had done a lot of damage including turning over a few semi trucks on the highways nearby.

This picture of Mini Book Mama and Scooter was taken just a few minutes before the rain started.

Mini Book Stand

Here's a cute mini-book stand Petal Pusher and I found at Archiver's in the clearance section. I used Imaginesce Twitter-Pated Mushroom Fancy paper to cover it. I hadn't used my aqua paint for a while so had to water it down, but the color was just right so it was work it.

Mini-Book Mama and Petal Pusher, I got mine done first!!!!

Friends Album

Here's an album we Scrappin' Sisters made from a kit from Bo Bunny. It features the new Sophie line of paper, which also happens to be the name of Mini Book Mama's puppy. There are no pictures in it yet - always my downfall, but it is pretty none-the-less.
